I wanted to thank you for joining my blog. It's great to find other Kodaly educators (I feel we are a small percentage). I saw you have manipulatives and SMARTboard files on your site and was wondering how you set it up to sell manipulatives.

I found your blog through pinterest - great ideas! I downloaded the Smartboard Star Spangled Banner activity, but the timer doesn't work when I click on it. Any tips or ideas what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks Debbie! Yes, I have also recently had trouble with the "rockets red glare" timer on that SMART Board file. I updated to SMART Board Notebook11 this summer and when I started up my Star Spangled Banner file, the timer would not start. I think it has to do with the new version. I suggest replacing that timer with another from the gallery. (Unfortunately those timers are not nearly as exciting.)

I am very impressed with your website. I was wanting to try one of your free smartboard downloads. I have a Macbook and I am having trouble downloading the Star Spangled Banner one. Would you know why or what I need to do? We are studying this song and thought your smart lesson was great.

What a wonderful website! I would love to purchase your products for my classroom, but I use a Promethean Board, not a Smartboard. Any chance you'll ever make your lessons Promethean (Active-Inspire) compatible? Thanks!

I found your website from your article in the Kodaly Envoy magazine. This is my first year teaching and I am working with a SMART Board for the first time, so I am VERY thankful that I came across your article on SMART Board Assessment. Assessing is where I feel I am struggling and always looking for fun ways to assess. I teach 3rd-5th grade and try to find ways to keep things fun, but not make the activities too childish or too advanced. I noticed you said you use Gradekeeper, so I was looking into it. Is this something you use just for you or does your school use it as well? I don't feel I have a convenient way of tracking grades and this sounded like it works well - having everything in one place.

Love your site! I was having trouble with the quarter rest and Mama Buy Me a Chiney Doll downloads - Mama is coming in a folder with all of the "pieces" rather than a SB file, and the other one says the destination cannot be created? I was very excited to find this, as I just started Mama with my 4th graders to prepare ti-tiki!

I saw you reference Kodaly Approach Book 4 on Kodaly Corner. WHERE can I get this? I have looked high & low, but cannot find any other info, besides in a commemorative publication of her life (after she passed away). Can you direct me? Thanks!

Hi Elsa, I'm sorry to have taken a while to respond. I can't track down Book 4 for purchase. Dr Kathy Hickey of University of Redlands would be someone to ask. Here is some info on Dr. Hickey: http://www.redlands.edu/academics/school-of-music/kathy-hickey.aspx#.Uxye9twYImw

You have stated the source of "Peg Leg the Pirate" as Ginger Littleton. I am wondering why this is so, when it was written by Judy Creen of Australia and is in copyright. Do you have permission to use this material (you have changed the time signature, words and rhythm slightly, however it is still the same song)?
